General:

Following are adjectives that best describe how I think, act and feel: affectionate, caring, pleasant, vulnerable, unpretentious, tender, dependable, flexible, open-minded, intelligent, adventurous, fun-loving, accepting of people just the way they are, compassionate, down-to-earth, organized, and warm.

Seeker of Truth:

I am an independent thinker and do not adhere in any system of beliefs. I am searching for truth and accept the fact that I will never find it. In my search for truth, I have attended Unitarian and Unity churches and the Centers for Spiritual Living and I have participated in various spiritual practices. I like Andre Gide's statement, "Believe those who are seeking the truth; doubt those who find it."

Realistic:

I try to see all things just the way they really are. I am usually doubtful of beliefs that can not be proven objectively. Although I may at times accept the truth of unproven ideas, I am quick to discard them when faced with contrary evidence.

Tolerant:

I see almost everything as shades of gray instead as of black or white. I generally do not see my own or other people's actions as good or bad or as right or wrong. I like Rumi's statement, "Out beyond ideas of wrong doing and right doing, there's a field. I'll meet you there." I also like a cartoon I saw recently in which a child asks his parent, "Mom, What's a Label?" and his mother answers, "It's something they put on a person so you can hate them without having to get to know them first."
